The Body of Knowledge of The APMG PPP Certification Program® accreditation is solely and exclusively a PPP Guide.
The APMG PPP Certification Program® Guide was written by PPP practitioners in the eight modules. It comprises best practices from many countries and aims to bring a consistency of terms used in PPPs and to increase skills and capacity for the delivery of PPPs.
The Public Private Partnership Foundation Course and Examination are based on Chapter 1, Appendix A and the Glossary of the PPP Guide. The Public Private Partnerships Preparation Course are based on Chapters 2-5 of the PPP Guide. Also, The Public Private Partnerships Execution Course and Examination are based on Chapters 5-8 of the PPP Guide.

Content of PPP Guide
The Guide consists of 8 Chapters.
The first one is the “initial” level, giving a general knowledge on PPPs, on contents of the PPP Guide, and presents the standard process.
The second one focuses on the configuration and functioning of PPP frames and programs.
The rest of the chapters presents to the reader the main phases of the management cycle of a PPP project.

The APMG PPP Certification Program® Pathway
Three Levels of The APMG PPP Certification Program®
The APMG PPP Certification Program® comprises three exams; a Foundation exam and two Practitioner level exams with the Foundation exam a pre-requisite for the Practitioner level exams. Successful candidates for each exam will be awarded a certificate.
Candidates can take one or both of the Practitioner exams in any order, however taking the Preparation exam before the Execution exam follows the lifecycle of a PPP. Candidates who have passed all three exams will be entitled to use The APMG PPP Certification Program® credential.
CP3P® Foundation Level
The main objectives of the CP3P® Foundation course is to introduce the PPP concept as an option to procure and manage infrastructure, to scope the term for the purpose of the PPP Guide, and to explain its main characteristics. CP3P® Foundation course also introduces those aspects of PPPs that will be explained further in the rest of the PPP educational programs. These include the relevance and features of a proper PPP framework and the entire PPP process cycle, including a description of each of the phases that constitutes the process from a practical perspective.
CP3P® Preparation Level
The purpose of the CP3P® Preparation certification is to confirm whether the candidate has achieved sufficient understanding of the importance and general content of a PPP Framework and application of PPP Project Identification, Screening, Appraisal and Preparation Processes in a given governmental context. In this course, you will learn fundamental preparation and appraisal techniques to establish Value-for-Money of PPPs from a government perspective.
CP3P® Execution Level
The purpose of the CP3P® Execution certification is to confirm whether the candidate has achieved sufficient understanding of how to apply the structuring and drafting Process of PPP tender documents and the PPP contract, the tendering and awarding of PPP contracts, and the management of PPP contracts during the Construction and Operations Phases. A successful Execution candidate should be able to start structuring and drafting PPP tender documents and PPP contracts, manage the tender and awarding of PPP contracts, and manage PPP contracts during the Construction and Operations Phases, whilst anticipating and planning for hand back requirements at the end of the contract period.

Candidates who sit all three exams and complete them successfully can be awarded The APMG PPP Certification Program® credential.
